This demo service focuses on cleaning, drying, nail care and removing loose coat or manageable tangles. It does not promise a haircut, severe mat removal or a specific finish before the cat has been assessed.
Bath
A pet-appropriate cleansing routine is used only when the cat can tolerate the setup safely.
Dry & Comb
Drying pace and coat work are adjusted to the cat’s response, coat density and comfort.
Nail Trim
Nails are trimmed when positioning and restraint can remain controlled and low-stress.

Not Every Cat Is a Safe Fit for a Salon Groom
A quiet room and slow handling can help, but they do not remove every risk. A groomer needs honest information about previous bites, scratches, escape attempts, breathing issues, mobility limits and reactions to dryers or water.
A direct staff review is needed when:
- The cat has a history of aggressive or panic behaviour during grooming
- Sedation has been used or suggested for handling
- There are open wounds, skin problems, parasites or signs of illness
- Matting is tight, widespread or close to sensitive areas
- The cat has medical conditions that may affect stress tolerance

Some cats tolerate a complete bath and comb-out, while others need a shorter visit. A professional should watch body language throughout the appointment and prioritize a safe stopping point over completing every planned step.
- Begin with a calm visual and coat assessment
- Use the least stimulating setup that is practical
- Pause between stages when the cat needs time to settle
- Reduce dryer intensity or change methods when appropriate
- Stop before stress or defensive behaviour becomes unsafe
The sample duration is approximately 1.5–2.5 hours. Extra coat work, drying time or breaks may extend the visit, while an early stop may make it shorter.
Coat and matting
Small Tangles and Severe Matting Are Different Problems
A comb-out can remove loose coat and manageable tangles. Tight matting may pull on the skin, hide irritation and make brushing painful, so it needs a separate assessment rather than a promise to “brush it all out.”
Loose Undercoat
Regular combing can help remove shed coat before it compacts. The amount of work depends on density and how long the coat has gone between sessions.
Localized Tangles
Small areas may be worked through when the cat is comfortable and the coat can be separated without prolonged pulling.
Tight or Widespread Mats
These may require clipping, a veterinary setting or another approach. GroomAI cannot determine the safest option from a chat description.
